In short, E. J. Price is a dreamer, an artist, and a creative who is admittedly socially awkward and has always marched to the beat of her own drum. Her faith in God is found woven throughout her work as she aims to shine light in the dark areas of life.
Though she wrote and illustrated her first book in elementary school, her lifelong dream of becoming a published author wasn’t (almost) realized until much later. When a series of dreams, one continuous story, remained etched in her mind, she decided to put those dreams into writing, and thus, her first book was conceived.
At length, E. J. is a thirty-something-year-old who lives with her husband, five kids, and their six pets. While her college major was undeclared, she did take many art classes throughout her school career. She was a cake artist before deciding to hang up her apron and dust the flour from her hands in order to pursue writing (though her kids insist that she still make their birthday cakes every year, and she wouldn’t have it any other way). She’s been known to say that cookie butter is the best cake flavor, and she stands by that.
When she isn’t writing, E. J. can often be found strumming a guitar, playing piano, or singing along with her favorite songs. However, you won’t find her in concert anytime soon…or ever for that matter. But she does love attending performances of those much more talented than she. Her musical taste has a habit of finding its way into her writing. So if you’re curious what musicians she’s listening to, you know how to find out!
She is the reigning Mario Kart champion of her household and probably takes the game much too seriously. Yoshi is her character of choice. She also enjoys reading, watching a good action movie or crime drama, admiring her favorite cars, and hiking, especially if waterfalls are involved. For thrills, she likes to zipline through mountains or parasail at the beach.
As much as E. J. loves writing, it is merely a tool for her true passion: sharing God’s love and truth. She hopes that her work inspires hope in others and brings them closer to him.
